Together, We're a Great Team!
Orthodontics is a specialized treatment which requires great skill, patience and gentle care on the part of the doctor providing the treatment. You may not realize however, just how important the patient's role is to their own successful treatment. The happiest orthodontic patient is the one who is committed to following the doctor's directions and who realizes that their own cooperation will allow them to achieve the maximum progress within a minimum period of time. Our team's objective is to see each patient through a smooth, uncomplicated and enjoyable treatment which will finish on time and give the patient the smile of their dreams. Your Part
When braces are first placed in the mouth, the patient is given thorough instructions regarding care of the appliances. Brushing and good oral hygiene techniques are demonstrated and explained. Our caring team members enjoy answering any and all questions our new patients have about their braces and how to take the best care of them. Good oral hygiene is crucial to ensure the best results for each and every orthodontic patient!
Keeping your appointments as prescribed by our doctors cannot be stressed enough. Patients will usually visit our office every 3 to 6 weeks during active treatment. Canceling appointments on short notice or forgetting appointments can be detrimental to your treatment. This is especially true if a lengthy appointment has been missed. Rescheduling a lengthy appointment on short notice is very difficult and as a courtesy to other patients may require a less convenient time for the canceling patient. Our schedule is devoted to delivering personalized care for each patient at each appointment, so it is very important to each patient's progress that scheduled appointments be kept to avoid excessive treatment time. If it is necessary to change an appointment, please call us as soon as possible. We will make every reasonable effort to reschedule your appointment as conveniently as possible in order to maintain a productive and timely treatment schedule. When auxiliary appliances are indicated (i.e. headgear, elastics, expanders, etc.) the patient will receive specific instructions regarding proper use. It is very important that patients follow these instructions and wear these appliances faithfully as directed by our staff. Treatment can virtually come to a standstill if these necessary appliances are not worn for the required number of hours per day. For our young patients, it is crucial that parents monitor them and encourage them to do their part at home and at school. Our team is here to support you and we want you to enjoy your journey to a beautiful smile! With our patient's and parent's dedication and our team's expertise, the payoff will be priceless! We look forward to assisting you with your needs.
