What do apples have to do with orthodontics? More than you think in this case. On Friday, Dr. Manuel J. Sousa of Salem Centre for Orthodontix (SCO) presented one lucky winner, Kay Barretto of Salem, New Hampshire, with a brand new Apple iPad 2. The prize was awarded for merely signing up to “like” SCO on Facebook.

Kay is a past patient of Salem Centre for Orhodontix, and was thrilled to receive her reward. Getting quickly up to speed on the iPad 2 technology she hopes to soon Skype her adult children. Congratulations to this contest winner and thank you to all who “liked” SCO in March and April.

Moving into social media circles, Dr. Sousa is hoping to better communicate with his patients and their families by providing real-time answers to questions on orthodontics appliances, and providing support during the various stages of treatment. The Facebook page for SCO launched in March 2011 and quickly added 80 + friends. From those one winner was selected at random.
